GOING ON FOREVER..

Some people seem to think they’re God’s gift to humanity, others that humanity is God’s gift to them. Some people seem to think they’re God’s cast-offs, useful only as rags and handy-wipes quite reasonably finishing up in the dumpster. Some people seem to think they deserve all they get, others that they’re not getting what they deserve. Some people seem to think anybody who thinks they’re getting their fair share is not fairly sharing it with everybody else. Some people think somebody else is to blame, others think they only have themselves to blame. Some people think blaming anybody is a sure sign they’re not trying hard enough. Some people think effort is a challenge, others that it’s a sure sign somebody lacks inspiration. Some people seem to feel like a success one minute and a failure the next, and some people think that’s a sure sign of instability. Some people think stability is a lack of progress, others think that progress is undermining stability. Some people like cheese, some people don’t like cheese. Some people think liking cheese is a tribute to the cow, others that it’s an excuse for abusing them…

Some people seem to feel the need to take a stand against something, others that that’s a sure sign they don’t understand the complexity of this world. Some people seem glad to be alive, others just don’t want to get up in the morning. Some people seem to think they live in a dream-world, others that they live in the real world. Some people seem to think life is a joke, others that it’s a solemn occasion for atonement. Some people seem to think they must have done something wrong even though they can’t remember exactly what, others remember exactly what but they’ve already forgiven themselves and moved on. Some people seem to think they’re in denial, others deny they think much about anything at all. Some people seem to think thinking is part of the problem, others that not thinking is the problem. Some people think we’ve created our own problems, others think that these problems have been thrust upon us by somebody else to keep us distracted from the bigger problem, though they’re not altogether sure what that is, unless it’s that some people are different from others and not everybody is the same. If everybody was the same there would be no problem? Some people think we should embrace our differences, others that we should embrace our similarities..

Some people seem to think they know better than everybody else. Some people think that somebody must, or we would really have a problem! Some people think everything depends on the weather, others think that’s cowardly and defeatist. Some people think that anything is possible, others think that is just blind optimism. Some people think that blind people have nothing to look forward to. Some people think that old people have nothing to look forward to. Some people think that they have nothing to look forward to. Some people seem to think that the future will solve everything, others that it will be the end of humanity as we know it. Some people don’t seem to know it now, others seem to think it’s already in the past. Some people seem to be past caring, others seem to care so much they’ve forgotten what they used to look forward to…

I could go on forever.. I guess I just have to hope that’s something to look forward to..?
