CORPUS DELICTUS update

Synopses :

EPISODE FIVE : “HEARTS WITHOUT FLOWERS”. A rude awakening for Cheryl, as she discovers a dead body in The Pocket Tavern. The seriously wounded Janelle, rejecting medical attention ,bonds with the young “nurse” Mary Ellen. Bill picks up the heart to be trafficked from his old flame and former “student” Gabriella. Jody joins in an after-school gathering with Lucas and his classmates, Jennifer, Christine and Kyle. His infatuation with the troubled, recalcitrant Christine doesn’t end well. Jennifer reluctantly conducts a drug-deal with the thirteen-year-old Chloe in a downtown Dunkin’ Donuts, unaware she is being watched. Mutual revelations appear to be relationship-breakers for the two girls. Wounded in body and heart, a doped-up Jody whisks Lucas off to an aborted house-breaking. Convinced the world is making a fool of him, Jody determines he needs some payback.

EPISODE SIX : “TRUTH OR DARE”. Jody’s day goes from bad to a lot worse. Dazed and battered he follows a distant but unforgotten dream, finds at least some camaraderie solace and potential refuge for the night in the unlikely attentions of Cheryl. Kyle and Christine commiserate with each other, before Kyle attempts a tentative re-defining of his relationship with his father. A seriously deteriorating Janelle bares at least her past if not her soul to the young “nurse” Mary Ellen. Solomon says his conflicted goodbyes to his wife before she is efficiently not unsympathetically euthanized. Kyle discovers Lucas with the murdered bodies of the two girls Jennifer and Christine, apparently with the bloodied murder-weapon in his hands.. Lucas professes his innocence, but Kyle convinces him not to call the police and face up to any music when the blood is not so freshly spilled.

EPISODE SEVEN : “LOVE AMONGST THE ASHES”. A freakishly fatal traffic “incident” lands Bill in a New jersey lock-up. Didi helps Janelle become the daughter neither of them ever had. Cheryl tends Jody’s wounds, they get high together, she goes to bed while he lapses into dreamtime on the couch. Solomon witnesses his wife go up in flames. A paranoid Bill is informed by Pindar’s lawyer he will be in jail for at least one night and possibly for the next ten years. Jody’s dream turns to nightmare when he’s woken up to the TV breaking news about the brutal murder of two teenage girls in the Edgewood heights. It doesn’t look good. Cheryl comforts him the only way she knows how.
